Kale beet berry smoothie

Jamba Juice doesn't stand a chance against this delicious concoction full of farm goodness! Tastes great and best of all, the kids love it!





For 1 serving:

4-6 kale leaves

1 or 2 cooked beets (1/2-1 cup)

1/2 c fresh or frozen berries

1 frozen banana

1 scoop of protein powder (opt)

1 T nut butter (opt)

5-6 oz liquid (coconut milk, almond milk, etc)


Blend everything together

I didn't know either so thanks to one of the other gals at my CSA pickup location for the tip....it's actually super easy!


Just trim off the tops and fuzzy bottoms of the beets and boil them for 30 minutes! Pull them out of the water and then peel them....the skins slip off pretty easily once they're cooked!
